Updates And Other Things

Whew! It's been a while. I had hoped to have some good news on the publishing front to share with you, but that didn't pan out. In any event, that's one of the big things that was devouring most of my time.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I've also been battling an illness for quite some time. It's a serious but not life-threatening illness that, among other things, really cuts into the amount of energy I have to work on things, especially since my day job has to come first. This means I've gotten pretty behind with posting reviews of books I've been reading, or getting something written that I could share here.

It will happen. Currently I'm reading an advanced copy of The Darkest Hour by Tony Schumacher, which is slated to be published in September of this year. I'm about halfway through it and really enjoying it, which is impressive considering I'm not normally a big fan of historical fiction (although in this case, it's an alternate-history, as it's set in German-occupied London during WWII). It's proven interesting enough that I recommend giving it a read even though I'm not done with it, so when it hits shelves, grab a copy! Or snag it from the library. Or a friend. Or something.

Expected publication: late September of 2014. Alternate-history fiction set in German-occupied London during WWII and follows London copper John Rossett, who was pressed into service with the SS and tries to figure out the line between what's right and what's the job.

Once I finish the book, I'll put up a proper review. And I'll start working my way back through the books I've read while I've been gone and put up reviews of them, too. Some of them deserve a few minutes of special attention. :)
